Prince Harry Reportedly Has Put a Ring on Meghan Markle’s Non-Wedding Finger

Meghan Markle’s jewelry collection recently grew by one after receiving a gold band from her boyfriend of less than one year, Prince Harry. According to the Daily Mail, Meghan has a new thumb ring and only takes off the ring when she films, because seeing Rachel Zane with a thumb ring would cause major confusion for fans. Meghan, who recently returned to work on the latest season of Suits, was last spotted wearing the ring while catching a flight from Austin, Texas, to Toronto. 

Says one Daily Mail source, the ring is "a gold band and Harry gave it to her about six weeks ago" and Meghan has "happily told people on set that it is from him and said it is a little too big so she is always careful not to lose sight of it.” Either Meghan’s thumb has gotten smaller in the last six weeks or this means Harry likely surprised the actress with the gift and just guessed on sizing. (Easy on the eyes, terrible at ring size estimates, that handsome royal). That, or there’s a new trend of loose-fitting jewelry on the rise. Sounds stressful and dangerous, considering several of Meghan’s new accessories are from Harry, whose first reported gift to his lady was a blue and white bracelet, which matches the one on his right hand. He’s also given Meghan a Cartier Love bracelet, a gold Maya Brenner necklace with the initials “M” and “H,” and a gold arrow ring, which the Daily Mail says also has the letter “H.”

News of Meghan’s thumb ring comes weeks after she expertly handled a question about Harry and marriage at the 2017 ATX Television Festival. According to ABC News, she “smiled and shied away” from answering the question and instead stayed on topic to talk about Suits. In May, Meghan joined Harry as his date for Pippa Middleton and James Matthews’s lavish wedding reception at Pippa’s parents’ $8 million home in Bucklebury.

Back in February, the internet wondered whether or not the "Suits" actress was wearing an "H" ring as a nod to her royal boyfriend (she wasn't), and the debate actually sparked a surge in sales for the brand who designed the ring in question (oh hello, The Meghan Markle Effect). In April, however, she was spotted wearing an "H" ring -- and everyone, of course, took notice.

Now, hawk-eyes are buzzing about the gold ring on her thumb that may or may not be an engagement ring (read: it's not).

While the subtle piece of jewelry doesn't mean a proposal happened, it is supposedly a gift from Prince Harry -- and Markle's co-stars say she only takes the precious ring off to film her scenes as Rachel Zane on "Suits." How cute

Jeff Prince, an astrologer and member of the Association of Great Britain believes that Meghan Markle, 35 and from LA, will not embark on an engagement with Prince Harry, 32, this year.

Speaking to Express.co.uk he said: "I believe an engagement in 2017 is unlikely."

Jeff claims Meghan will not become engaged to the Prince “until she feels more confident within herself regarding social expectations, protocols and her ability to strike a balance between what she is told she must do and exercising her freedom to pursue what feels right.”

However, Meghan will be moving in a positive direction in terms of her relationship with the royal if the stars are right. 

The Suits actress was not pictured this morning at Pippa Middleton's wedding to James Matthews. 

It's thought Meghan, who has been snapped walking around London this week, will join her boyfriend Prince Harry at the evening event.

However, it does appear that the romance between Harry and Meghan could be written in the stars.

“Meghan was born on 4 August 1981 with the Sun in Leo and the Moon, Jupiter, Saturn and Pluto in Libra,” Jeff explained.

This, according to Jeff, means there is something for Meghan to learn during that time when it comes to her relationship.

However, there are sure signs her ties with the royal family will become tighter and that he will feel more scrutiny.

“Saturn returns to Capricorn on 19 December 2017 and Meghan’s relationship duties and responsibilities will become stricter from then until 2020,” Jeff said.

Today is historic, but not for the reason you may think; rather, because a prince made a very public statement about a girl.

While on the surface this new romance might seem like a simple tale of boy meets girl, it's way more than that. The interest in his mother's relationship with Dodi Fayed led to an insatiable hunt for pictures of the new couple. The cat-and-mouse chase that ensued is exactly what Harry wants to avoid.

Just a few months ago, Harry admitted to London's Sunday Times that dating was something that filled him with "massive paranoia."

"If or when I do find a girlfriend, I will do my utmost…to ensure that me and her can get to the point where we're actually comfortable with each other before the massive invasion that is inevitably going to happen into her privacy," he explained. "The other concern is that even if I talk to a girl, that person is then suddenly my wife, and people go knocking on her door."

And he was right. Since news broke about Harry and Meghan, her world has been turned upside down. Her family and friends have been harassed, every aspect of her life analyzed, no stone has been left unturned in the race for every detail about the girl that might one day become a member of arguably the most exclusive family in the world.

Today showed that Harry is willing to cast aside his own needs to stand up for his girl. His statement is unprecedented and sets Meghan apart from his previous love interests, Chelsy Davy and Cressida Bonas. Harry's official statement from Kensington Palace also implies that the Queen, Prince Charles and Prince William are supportive of his new romance (he would never have released a statement without their blessing).

Whether he can actually protect her from the seemingly inevitable intrusion is yet to be seen. In some ways, William and Kate had it easy. They were able to date in a time when social media was in its infancy. Ironically, Harry's confirmation has now guaranteed the public's fascination will only increase. The price on Harry and Meghan's heads, and that first snap of them together, is even higher than before because Britain's most eligible bachelor, our favorite party boy, is finally ready to settle down.

And it seems Meghan Markle is the lucky girl he's been waiting for, for all these years.

2017 is shaping up to be the year.

As in, the year in which Prince Harry—heretofore one of the most eligible bachelors in the world—officially removes himself from the market.

He and Meghan Markle aren't engaged yet as far as anybody knows, but they may as well be, considering the various steps that have been taken on Markle's part to align her lifestyle more closely with the palace ideal. And while a proposal seemed imminent for a variety of reasons anyway, the actress' appearance on the sidelines of the royal's polo match over the weekend added a heightened sense of inevitability to their relationship.

Markle even missed friend Serena Williams' baby shower in Miami on Sunday because she had promised Harry that she'd attend, so long as she could get the time off of work (and we have a feeling the betrothed tennis star understood). The Suits star is due back on the Toronto set of the USA drama on Wednesday, so hers was a brief jaunt across the pond.

"Harry was the one that encouraged her to come," a source close to the prince tells E! News. "He hates doing these things by himself and it felt great to have someone he loves cheering him on. With Meghan, he feels like they're a team. It gives him so much energy."

What it sounds like, is that Harry's gearing up to propose to his best friend—rather like how his big brother, Prince William, proposed to his best friend in 2010...at least a month before they revealed to the public that they were engaged.

But on any given day, one mere mortal simply breezes past the guards. Harry’s girlfriend Meghan Markle “is waved right through,” a source shares in the new issue of Us Weekly. “Harry has made it clear she’s to be treated like everyone else who lives there.”

Consider it step one in her royal transformation. With Harry’s pals expecting him to propose to the Toronto-based actress by fall, she’s begun readying herself for life in The Firm, the cheeky name the royals have coined for their family.

The 35-year-old divorcée already has a direct line to Harry’s most trusted aides. The 32-year-old prince’s private secretary, Edward Lane Fox, and communications secretary, Jason Knauf, are on call to answer the L.A. native’s queries, says a Harry source. “There have been many times where Meghan’s been unsure of protocol,” says the source, “and having access to Harry’s aides has been a godsend.”

A close bond with his brother and sister-in-law has also proved invaluable. An insider says William, 34, and Kate, 35, have given the Suits actress tips on handling life in the royal spotlight. “She’s very much been accepted into the family,” says the insider. “They are so happy to see Harry happy.”

Harry’s undergone a rebirth of his own. Once known for party-boy antics (photos of him showing off the, er, crown jewels in Las Vegas surfaced in 2012), he’s now running Heads Together, a charity dedicated to ending the stigma around mental health, with Will and Kate. In an interview with The Telegraph’s April 16 Mad World podcast, the ex-military officer opened up about seeking counseling to losing his mom, Princess Diana, at age 12.

“Because of this process,” he said, “I’ve now been able to take my work seriously, been able to take my private life seriously as well.”

That includes Markle. For Harry, “this is a love he"s never felt before,” says a source. “He’s met someone who understands him on a deeper level and they just connect.” Soon, predicts the source, they could be legally bonded. “Everything is still as exciting as the day they met,” says the insider. “They talk about the future all the time and they see themselves together.”

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry May Be Getting Engaged Any Day Now

Well, well, well. Ever since Meghan Markle announced that she was shutting down her lifestyle blog, The Tig, the world (O.K., not necessarily the entire world, but a whole lot of us) has been waiting expectantly for an engagement announcement for Markle and her boyfriend, Prince Harry. When Harry was spotted visiting Markle in Toronto a few days before Easter, you could practically hear the British tabloid editors taking a deep breath.

Over the weekend, there were two further developments that seem to indicate that Harry and Markle might be making things official very, very soon. First, Markle has reportedly cut ties with the Canadian clothing brand Reitmans, for which she has modeled and designed two collections, which, again, could perhaps be seen as a sign that she is trying to get her affairs in order before a potential move to London.

And then, on Monday, multiple outlets reported that Markle will be attending Pippa Middleton’s wedding on May 20 with Harry. However, there is a minor wrinkle. Due to stringent royal protocols, Markle will not be allowed to attend the actual ceremony, which will be held at St. Mark’s Church, as she is not yet engaged or married to Harry. (Though they have a few weeks to change that, we suppose! Can you imagine a surprise quickie Harry-Markle wedding? The Queen might actually throw an entire tea set through a window.) Markle will reportedly be allowed to attend the reception, in the evening, though, which is not under the same rules. Hello magazine said that Markle has asked for a week off of work from filming Suits, from May 15 to 22, in order to attend the wedding. (When reached, the palace had no comment, and a source told Vanity Fair that Suits is on hiatus that week.)

Oh, and on top of all of this, as if it were not enough Meghan-and-Harry-related excitement to work through, Harry said in an interview with the Telegraph, released over the weekend, “I, of course, I would love to have kids.”

The question now is really just whether they will get engaged before or after Pippa’s wedding. Or, if they do get engaged before, will they wait to announce until after the wedding so as to not in any way steal her thunder? And then the other equally as pressing question is: Will we get any sleep until they’re actually engaged, knowing any morning we could wake up and that wil)l be the morning?
